Womens' Ministry
|
Our Vision SFC Women's Ministry strives to epitomize Christ in our church, community and our world. Through activities and outreach, we seek to enable women to deepen their faith; build friendships among women; and to address the concerns of women in our church, our community and our world. With strength we have found in Jesus Christ, we are empowered to share God's Word with our families, fellow believers and in every expanding circles among non-believers. _________________________________ Our Church The Women's Ministry holds events, fundraisers, outreach, Bible studies, retreats, family outings, Girls' Nights Out, craft nights, field trips and more to provide a warm, welcoming environment of sharing God's love with each other as friends and women. There is something for evryone each month. See the calendar of events and join us soon for fun, fellowship and friends! Our Community We work with the Advocacy Program Against Domestic Violence - one of the most popular pro bono programs at ASU's Sandra Day O'Connor college of Law. Devoted to preventing, and eliminating domestic violence in Arizona, members of the organization have the opportunity to meet with victims in domestic violence shelters and provide legal resources. The program also sponsors a resource hotline for victims of domestic violence, which is available 24/7, 365 days of the year. Our World SFC Women are working with Grace and Mercy Ministries to deliver the gospel and aid to several countries. This 501(c)(3) program has selected Romania as its country of emphasis for 2007-08. The "Romanian Project" has adopted a Romanian orphanage and already has provided wood, clothing and shoes for the harsh winters; established a mentor program to aide with monetary, spiritul and practical life skills; and has pledge to feed the orphans for the two-year period at a cost of approximately $1.50 per day per child. We will travel to Timisoara, Romania in September 2008 to provide a week of ministry and training through a Women's Retreat - similar to the one we lead right here in the Valley. The group will also continue to minister to families and orphans so in need in challenging living conditions. If you would like to make a contribution to either of our charities, please contact us at sfcwomen@gmail.com for information on making a tax deductible donation. |
